Safari Guide
Lazaro’s career in guiding began in 2007 and he joined our team in 2012. He is our group whisperer, turning strangers into friends on our scheduled group safaris. To him the secret for great group dynamics lies in finding out about everyone’s personal expectations and wishes on what to experience on safari; then making sure everyone in the group has the safari they always wanted. Lazaro enjoys the long conversations at the dinner table, learning about different cultures and lifestyles and sharing his love for his country Tanzania with you. On game drives, he not only looks for his favourite animal, the rhino, as part of the Big Five, but also the members of the Little Five. And these, he wants you to know, are in fact more difficult to spot than their big and well-known counterparts. Lazaro speaks English, German, and Swahili.

Tour Guide
For Juan, travelling has always been a passion. He spent three years in Latin America, two years in Oceania and Southeast Asia and shorter terms of up to 9 months in various European and North African countries. He worked as teacher in adult education centres and as the head of a competence centre for migrant matters before he moved to South Africa in 2011 to be trained as a nature guide. Since then he has mainly been working as a tour guide in Southern Africa, though he also gathered experience as a travel consultant. He is a member of the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa. Juan finds all animals interesting, even ant lions and termites.
Juan speaks German, English and Spanish.
Dexter Chikerema
EXPERT IN SOUTH AFRICATour Guide
Growing up in a small village near a nature conservancy in central Zimbabwe, Dexter spent his childhood exploring the great outdoors – leopards, hippos and antelopes always close by. Witnessing first-hand the benefits of tourism and conservation for rural communities strengthened his wish to become a tour guide. Since 2005 he has guided travellers across southern and eastern Africa and speaks a number of languages including South Africa’s Zulu, Xhosa, Venda and Pedi. Dexter wants to share with you the African Story of life on this great continent, telling you about cultural, historical and social contexts. He appreciates the curiosity of his guests and being a wildlife expert he is keen to scout for game in Kruger, Addo and Hluhluwe-iMfolozi National Parks. Dexter speaks most of the regional languages of southern Africa, as well as Swahili and English.

Tour Guide
Whether it’s cycling up a mountain, diving deep into the ocean, paragliding wide across the land or sailing half-way around Africa – Steve has done it and he loves it. He feels at home in nature. Working in conservation and starting his guiding career in Namibia in the 1980s, he has a wealth of practical experience in guiding travellers around southern Africa. A born and bred Capetonian, he hopes to share his love for the outdoors and his curiosity to discover his home country anew on each tour with his guests. Travelling in a small group, stopping at the side of the road and meeting the people of South Africa is his way of showing you Mzansi through the eyes of a local. When he is not guiding, find him in the Karoo, the Cederberg or Drakensberg Mountains or anywhere off the grid, where he takes a break from the rest of the world. Steve speaks English and German.
